A Perfect Lesson

I had located these wardrobes through the internet, in April, while we were still on Maui. We knew we would have to buy wardrobes as most apartments in Europe do not include build in closets as we are accustomed to in the US. When we got to Prague in May, Marek got sick and Marita (owner of the wardrobes) was getting nervous as her move date to Israel was quickly approaching. To calm her nerves and secure our wardrobes, I offered to visit her and the wardrobes with a deposit. We agreed. Adventure on. One metro stop, 12 minute bus ride and 20 minute walk through a small village later I was standing in front of Marita’s gate saying hello to her big brown ridgeback. My first thought when I saw the wardrobes was, “Hmm, they look bigger than I imagined.” Followed by, “Well, they’re IKEA so they should work.” Ten days later, I returned with Marek, our friend Radek and a big truck. Marek’s first response was, “Wow, they’re big.” Followed by, “Did you measure them? Are you sure they will fit?” Internally, I panicked. Externally, I said shrugging, “They’re IKEA.”

It took two trips to get those bad boys home. And two hours to get them and all their parts up 2 flights of stairs. They didn’t fit the elevator. Uh, oh. One by one they entered the space and one by one it appeared that it was not going to fit. Finally, after some effort it fell into place and literally, without a millimeter to spare!! It was an amazing moment; we fell back laughing.

Every morning, as I get ready for the day, I can be reminded by our wardrobes the lesson He spoke in my heart that day.

I am perfect.

My plan for you is perfect.

My provision for you is perfect.

Situations may appear to be bigger than you can handle and it’s often unclear how things are fitting together. Yet, labor in faith, knowing that victory has already been won and not a drop of sweat nor tear will be wasted. It’s all going to come together; perfectly.

As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. Psalm 18:30

My prayer for you is that you too can find comfort in knowing and trusting our perfect Father especially when you find yourself in a situation that appears too big, impossible or you cannot make sense of what is going on around you.

We are So loved! xoxo
